Modern day slavery is on the rise in the UK and the fight against it continues. Modern slavery is an appalling crime that has no place in today's society. However, this is often out of sight in many homes, schools, shops, behind the curtain of ordinary streest and in the community.
Statistics convey an estimate between 10,000 to 13,000 potential victims in the UK. At least 10 people including children are trafficked every week into UK facing violence, exploitation and forms of abuse, thus the introduction of The Modern Slavery Act 2015. Published by the home Office.
IN A STRANGE LAND Movie raises the awareness and the consequences of being a perpetrator, and how to put a stop to these crime within our communities. Our lives begins the day we start to speak out to put an end to slavery....Say NO to modern day Slavery!
